Here we are in midst of fantasy football draft season. In the late summers, millions of football fans flock to the internet, basement, and bars to hold their drafts. Of those millions, thousands annually will be forced to miss their drafts and employ autodraft features. On this episode of Man Vs. Autodraft, I’m going to show you what happens when one of those thousands is scheduled to attend a wedding on the day of the draft. Armed with little more than Yahoo’s ranking schedule, I’m going to show you how you can survive a team filled with extra kickers, tight ends, and bench players that will make your eyes water. This should truly be a harrowing experience!
Day 1: September 5th – Against the better judgment of all of his friends, my good friend decided to not only have his wedding on opening day of college football season, but also on Labor Day weekend, as well as the exact time of my work league draft. I intentionally did not set my prerankings in order to show you how you can overcome the worst possible circumstances.
Day 2: September 6th – Upon looking at my draft this morning, I come to find out I wound up with the #2 overall pick in a 10 team league. I was given Michael Turner with my first selection. Probably who I would have gone with anyway, so nothing too frightening there. Randy Moss is my #1 WR, but the true horrors begin when I see that I have Brandon Marshall slated as my #2 WR with Eddie Royal and Donnie Avery as backups.
Eddie Royal isn’t such a bad backup, unless the guy he will be swapped with IS ON THE SAME TEAM (whenever he decides to actually play football). My other backup, Donnie Avery, is not only overvalued in my opinion, but currently injured.
Let’s move on to the RB situation. Michael Turner and Marion Barber will start. That’s a very good duo, but when we get into the FLEX position, I see Marshawn Lynch and his suspension staring me in the face. Well, who’s my backup? None other than Fred Jackson, once again a backup on the same team with a player he will need to be swapped out with. Dammit!
I also start off with Aaron Rodgers at QB. Good enough, I like that a lot. But, my back up there will be imminent disaster and #1 overall ArmAss chosen Bust of the Season, Matt Cassel. By Week 5 when I need him, Cassel will probably be on waiver wires everywhere.
At tight end, I’ve got Owen Daniels, backed up by Vernon Davis. First off, two TEs is never a good idea. Secondly, neither get me all that excited. I feel a Vernon Davis drop in the near near future.
Surprisingly, Yahoo only drafted one kicker for me, Rob Bironas. Normally, I would be OK with this, except that Yahoo drafted him in the 9th round for me, one round ahead of drafting my first backup WR. Disgusting.
At DEF, I found myself with both Chicago and New England. I choose to always carry only one DEF, this will be a tough decision.
Tune in for the next episode of Man Vs. Autodraft to find out the many transactions I employ to try and right this capsizing boat of a team…
Hmmm...I got nothin'...

Thanks for the helpful content. It is also my belief that mesothelioma has an incredibly long latency period, which means that signs of the disease may not emerge until finally 30 to 50 years after the preliminary exposure to asbestos fiber. Pleural mesothelioma, which can be the most common variety and has effects on the area across the lungs, might result in shortness of breath, torso pains, plus a persistent coughing, which may cause coughing up blood.
