“Limbaugh says he believes he has been made an example by a players’ union seeking leverage in talks over a new collective bargaining agreement. And he says he believes what happened to him was an illustration of “Obama’s America on full display.””

Bah!  I wrote a long article about this full of political jibber-jabber, but then I deleted it.  This is a football blog, it should stay that way.  But, here’s the thing.  Rush Limbaugh made the money he intended on buying a portion of the Rams with by being a polarizing, hate spewing jackass.  I mean, even when he’s trying to make a point about his fellow Conservatives, it’s with degradation to the Liberals.  You can’t fault him, that’s what’s earned him millions of listeners and even more money.

You can’t take such a polarizing stance in which you belittle anyone who thinks differently from you and not expect the other half to really fucking despise you.  And that’s what he’s got.  He knows that.  He thrives on that.  With that said, you CERTAINLY couldn’t expect those very same people, who don’t HAVE to let you play in their game, to let you buy in.  In terms that fit in with this site, it’s like that one really shitty manager at your office who’s always coming to your desk whispering racist jokes to you and belittling your coworkers.  One day, he walks up and wants to be in your fantasy football league.  Would you let him in?  He said he’d buy the first round of beer at the draft.  Would you let him in now?  No.  Fuck no you wouldn’t, because everyone involved can’t stand the guy.

And on the flip side, if somehow the Reverend Al Sharpton had enough money to buy into that same portion of the Rams ownership, you better damn well believe he’d be turned down by the old white guys, just the same way the young black guys turned on Limbaugh.  Forget it.

But, my biggest beef.  The part that made me write this stupid article, is the fact that he somehow tied the whole thing into “Obama’s America”.  It smacks of pure unadulterated childishness and he should be ashamed.  But, he won’t be.  He’s using the same argument that he’s condemned as a career, where poor people complain that they can’t get something because they can’t get a fair shake for what ever reason.
