Yes, I am late to the party with this, but it has taken me awhile to get over it.  That fumble in OT, his sixth of the season according to CBS Sports, not only probably cost his team a first round bye, it cost me the championship.  Second is good, I can live with it, but I was defending champion in that league.  I suppose it was my destiny to lose by one point, considering I made the finals by one point, but it was disappointing nonetheless.

However, while I like to see Favre do well during the regular season (I just can’t bring myself to hate him, flip-floppy as he is), I am not a Vikings fan.  Losing the first round bye does my Packers a solid.  Then we’d get to see the awesome matchup of Playoff Favre vs. Playoff Romo.  This is a total crapshoot for both teams.  This is a game I couldn’t possibly gamble on.  I guess my money would be on the Vikings.  Maybe just because I want to see Favre get to and win the Super Bowl so maybe he will finally go away for once and for all (like that would actually happen).

Watching Eli and the Giants choke filled my heart with joy.  He is really the lesser Manning.  Not just in his play, but in his all around appeal. Even Danieal Manning is a step above him. Hell, Mario Manningham is a cooler Manning, because Manning + ham = awesome. Ham makes everything better, even a Manning.

I may be in the minority here, but I like Peyton’s commercials (or I used to, before he started showing up everywhere, like with Justin Timberlake and Ashton Kutcher), and the SNL United Way skit was one of the best ever.  Eli is not capable of that.  I am shocked that Eli was capable of winning a Super Bowl.  Well we all know the Giants’ D won that, but the QB gets the glory.  Also, I really like being right.  However, as a rule, and I can’t stress this enough, read the ING report and listen to Polish Powerhouse, not me.  I can usually tell you the correct winner of the game, but beating the spread?  Just getting worse as the season goes on.  It’s really getting infuriating.

I’d really like to talk about the playoffs as they stand right now, but the AFC picture is so convoluted, and I am no analyst, I am not touching that. I will, however, address the Lamarr Woodley comment.

From the AP:

PITTSBURGH — Linebacker LaMarr Woodley predicts the Patriots and the Bengals will “lay down” for their virtually meaningless games Sunday because they don’t want the Super Bowl champion Steelers to make the playoffs.
The Steelers (8-7) would reach the postseason for the fifth time in six seasons if they beat Miami, the Patriots defeat Houston, and the Bengals beat the Jets. There are other combinations that would get them in, but all include either a New England or Cincinnati victory.
“No one wants to see Pittsburgh in it. That’s just how it is,” Woodley said Wednesday. “Everybody knows we’re a dangerous team once we get into the playoffs, no matter how we played the whole year. Once we get into the playoffs, the Pittsburgh Steelers is a playoff team.”

Cocky much? I don’t think anyone’s laying down, bud. But thanks for planting the seed, maybe they will now. This really tells you exactly why I predicted the upset last week. I will just come right out and say it. I don’t like the Steelers. Really, this probably stems from my dislike of the Penguins and I am holding it against all of Pittsburgh, I don’t know.

Maybe it’s just Ben Roethlisberger’s horrendous moustache. Holy hell, that is the ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life. Get a mirror, Ben. It looks like you have some shit on your face, or your teammates are playing a practical joke on you by telling you it’s okay to walk around in public like that. It’s not, dude. It looks like a diarrhea caterpillar on your upper lip. Get rid of that now, for the love of all that is good and holy. Help keep America beautiful.
