I used to really like Prince. I still like a lot of his music. The guy is an amazing guitarist, give him that much. If I close my eyes I can transport myself back to the ’80′s when I wanted to party like it was 1999 and Darling Nikki was the naughtiest song I had ever heard in my life and enjoy it for what it is.
He was always kind of weird, which quite honestly, I find to be a good quality in most people. Then he changed his name to a symbol which was a little Beyond Thunderdome for even me, and started writing songs that Tom Jones wanted to cover and that was sort of the end of it.
I saw him in concert after that, however, and it was pretty badass. The only problem was, it was after he had become a Jehovah’s Witness, so all his songs were censored. Lame. Give me my money back.
